NEW BATTERY RESEARCH FACILITY LOOKS TOWARD THE FUTURE
LionVolt, an innovative battery scale-up based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, is revolutionising the battery industry with its advanced 3D electrode technology. To support the scaling of its production, LionVolt has partnered with CTS BeNeLux and ABN Cleanroom Technology to implement a cutting-edge dry room system for its new 3D Anode pilot production line at BIC1, Eindhoven. This state-of-the-art production line, set to open in the first half of 2025, will enable LionVolt to deliver its first battery products to clients, marking a significant milestone in the company's journey.
THE PARTNERSHIP: ENABLING INNOVATION
CTS BeNeLux teamed up with Cotes and ABN Cleanroom Technology to provide LionVolt with a highly efficient and flexible dry room system that meets the stringent environmental control requirements of advanced battery manufacturing. The system features a 3-rotor design, integrated PLC control system, and H14 HEPA filters, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This solution aligns perfectly with LionVolt’s commitment to precision, offering a production environment where environmental conditions are tightly controlled to support the innovative battery technology.
DRY ROOM PERFORMANCE: MEETING THE STRICT REQUIREMENTS
LionVolt’s production environment demands exceptional performance in environmental flexibility, and Cotes’ dry room system has been designed to meet those challenges. Here’s how the system performs to meet the company’s rigorous standards:

- The system can achieve a dewpoint of -60°C from -40°C within 1–5 hours, depending on moisture load, heating capacity, and control settings.
- This dynamic response time ensures the system can adapt quickly to fluctuating conditions, crucial for a pilot production line.

DESIGNED FOR PILOT LINE FLEXIBILITY
Cotes dry-air solutions are built with extra safety margins, allowing for maximum flexibility—an essential feature for pilot lines where conditions may change frequently. The system can scale up or down as needed, ensuring smooth operations and adaptability during early-stage production runs.
Inside the dry room, moisture is removed through adsorption dehumidification, using the Cotes Ultradry dehumidifier with 3-rotors to maintain the optimal dryness required for the production process. This ensures that the battery production environment meets the high standards of precision demanded by LionVolt’s advanced technologies.
