SteamReg technology
rolls back energy
bills for hot, dry air

The SteamReg system is a new, patent-pending technology that significantly reduces energy bills for dehumidification, especially in food industry drying and spray drying processes (such as the production of powdered milk and coffee).

It’s also eminently suitable for providing major energy savings on humidity management inside large industrial storage units and manufacturing facilities.

the ELFORSK award
2016

From super-heated
steam to hotter,
drier air

In the SteamReg system, super-heated steam at 130°C removes moisture from the dehumidifier rotor, thus saving on electricity bills.

Thermal energy from this steam is then extracted by a heat exchanger, and used to heat the process air leaving the dehumidifier.

In energy-intensive industrial drying processes, this results in big additional energy savings.

How it works

Post-heating
of process air

Optimisation of spray-drying processes
— Saves up to 15% on the system’s total energy consumption
— Re-uses 170% of energy inputs for heating

Steam compression

Optimisation of dehumidification process
— Up to 85% savings on energy consumption compared with traditional dehumidifier

Effective collaboration

This exceptionally energy-efficient technology is the result of effective collaboration led by Cotes and incorporating specialist research and development work from DryingMate, the Technical University of Denmark and Danish Technological Institute.
